The real background for me is to get something automatic from gabc [1] input to ly input. My test case is [2] as mentioned in the reply to Michael. There are also my remaining questions. Ideally, I would not have to modify the auto-generated ly code. That's why I hesitate to insert breaks. To answer two questions that might arise here: Why not use gregorio then? Because I like LilyPond and I could mix gregorian and modern staves. Why use gabc then?
