Hello David,

I tried your example and then commented out your instrument
declaration.  Your pitch is somewhat high but still my commented
version produces what is likely a piano voice and I would say that the
original version is indeed along the lines of a steel guitar. I am
using vim on a Fedora system and playing the generated midi files with
Fedora's default video player.
