I agree that a generic dropdown list of font names would not be optimal.
As said this is actually available to see in the "Document Fonts" dialog
(I think it's in the "Snippets" menu in the released version). On my
computer it takes a significant time to load, is pretty unpractical
since the drop-down is a multiple of my screen height - and it's not
clear whether it shows the fonts that are actually visible to LilyPond.
