According to the Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_(musical_ornament) <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_(musical_ornament)>, the Schleifer can be used for arbitrary interval while J. S. Bach seems to have used it for third very often. I think that a solution with a fixed symbol for third would be beneficial at least for those who have been typesetting Bach’s music often.
