I like your idea, thanks! What about preparing a MR so that
everything is formalized? I can imagine that your idea (having hooks)
and Jean's suggestion (having grobs) can probably be made
'compatible', i.e., as soon as we have the latter, it can be used to
implement the former without too many acrobatics.
