Another way is taking back out what you don't want, but it looks more
awkward to me here:
\chordmode {c:11+^7.9}
In olden times, c:5.11+ would have done the trick stopping at the fifth
and adding the sharpened 11, but then c:5 was changed to stop including
the third since c:5 for "power chords" looked like a more sensible input
syntax than c:^3 or c:1.5 .
