| Hi Don, Notice that the /Applications directory is limited to read/write for the owner "system" and the Group "admin". Which means that if your user is not part of the admin group you can't write to that directory. Personally, I put most non-Apple applications that I use frequently in an Application folder I created in my home directory, including Lilypond. I also have another folder in my home directory named Scores, where I keep, um, scores. - John
