We’re thinking about writing a Frescobaldi extension that alleviates
working with the git repo. (It’s been a while since I wrote anything
with a GUI in Python, but I guess I’ll manage; and there’s another
Python hacker with us…)
I found there’s code to access git within Frescobaldi, but I can’t
find anything in the GUI (besides the setting for the binary).
Can someone explain?
If you decide to work on this, I suggest having a look at this open PR:
https://github.com/frescobaldi/frescobaldi/pull/974
You may also try to contact Wen Xin and see if he may be interested in
resuming his work and collaborating with you.
This would be a great feature for many users and I think it can be part
of main Frescobaldi (as in that PR) instead of an extension.
Thank you, I saw this pull request.
I fear I can’t manage to work on another project (even more,
sustainably), and general git support in Frescobaldi has a much wider
focus than the use case of our project, providing and supporting that is
way over my head.
If we decide to try and it’s easier than I think now, we’ll happily
contribute.
