Apart from making the lyrics smaller, you could make small adjustments
to the underlay of the words, eg:

  … ü -- bers \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = #-0.6 Haar,
  \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = 0.8 nimmt …
