Hi Kiran,
My example was just to demonstrate the current state of AI ability --
even if I ended up giving a semi-counter-example in this case. :) The
LSR version of \add-stacc works awesomely, even if there are already
other dynamics including staccatissimo. So thanks, I've taken that!
But the point remains, AI has come a tremendous way with LilyPond in the
past year, actually producing valid code. Maybe next year it'll be able
to come up with the simpler version. Maybe in just a couple years there
will be things like pdf2ly, mscz2ly and ly2mscz, without a human having
to implement very much of it.
Regards,
Curt

Hi Curt (et al.),
Below is one example (Gemini 2.5 Pro) where I requested a function that adds
staccato to every note.
I’d be interested to hear how Scheme+Lilypond experts would compare the LLM-generated
code with the extant function given in
<https://wiki.lilypond.community/wiki/Adding_articulation_marks_using_Scheme_(simple)>
[which, IIUC, does the same thing?].
Best,
Kieren.
