Luatex like lilypond has a bit of a learning curve for sure. When I want
superior typesetting I make eithe svg or PDF of the Musical bits and then
do the text in luatex as it really can't be beat, but it is time consuming
and sometimes feels like its engine has a mind of its own. But the output
is fantastic.
