You might add a watermark to draw a box around the page, perhaps using
the idea from

  https://wiki.lilypond.community/wiki/Watermark

Ideally, the paper width and height gets automatically extracted,
together with the proper page offsets, so that a user don't have to
fiddle manually to get correct values for the box.

Such a functionality would be helpful for the LilyPond documentation,
too.
