problem with position of bar rest

Hi, I have an interesting problem here. In the first bar of "example.pdf", the bar rest of the upper voice is too close to the notes on the lower voice. How do I move the rest vertically upwards? I can't use pitched rests as the bar rest would move to the left side of the bar.
