I use --psfonts, too -- lilypond-book --pdf produces pdf with no syllables
(hyphens are in right places thought,-).

(2.10.20, W2K, Ukrainian language (cyrillic))

I have had some problems with title -- but can't remember, i don't use
title for scores to be included in TeX book.

I'll try to test. And report, surely :-)
