Have you read the section called "Notes for the MacOS X app" in the manual?

Thanks Mats,
I am using BBEdit and resaving with Unix line endings has almost got me there.
One more error:
Running lilypond.../bin/sh: line 1: lilypond: command not found
I am not a Unix expert and so how do define the path so I can call lilypond
without giving its full directory specification?
