hi,

try the fill-line command instead of right-align:

\header {
title = "Old dance"
subtitle = \markup \tiny \italic { \fill-line { "From \"Jane Pickerings
lute book\" "  "" } }
}

you just have to add an empty string which will be on the left edge of the page.
