I don't know about the abc, but you can have LP create midi files by adding 
\midi to the score block.  As an example:
 
\score
{
 \context PianoStaff
 <<
 \set PianoStaff.instrument = ""
 \context Staff = upper \upper
 \context Staff = lower \lower
 >>
 \layout {}
 \midi {\tempo 4 = 136}
}
