Can't there be a lilypond forum instead of a lilypond mailinglist?
Mailinglists are: somewhat dated, far from structured, and posts tend to
become bloated when for instance ppl start quoting quotes of quotes of
quotes of quotes, or simply quote a whole post and add one extra line to
it, etc. A forum on the other hand can be moderated (e.g. to get rid of too
many quotes), certain subjects can be grouped together, it's easier to
visualise things using links to images, code tags exist to provide a
non-proportional font, one reads what he wants to read and only that.. etc.
etc.
A forum should be a matter of going to some place like
