In working through the figured bass section of NR as part of the GDP, I've
found something that seems counter-intuitive to me.

When entering a chord, the lowest note comes first, followed by the higher
notes:

<c e g>2.

In the figured bass examples I find on the web, the lowest steps are generally
(perhaps always -- I can't find a counterexample right now) located on the
bottom in figured bass:

6
4

But with the default stacking direction, to get this output you must enter the
figure numbers in reverse order:

<4 6>2 <6 4>

will produce:

4 6
6 4

This behavior can be changed by altering stacking-dir of BassFigureAlignment.

My question: Should the default value of stacking-dir result in

<4 6>

producing

6
4

as I think?

Thanks,

Carl Sorensen
