If I understand correctly you instantiated separate voices inside
the \times

(which I didn't know you could do...cool)
You can instantiate a new context (including Voice) just about
anywhere in Lilypond.
and then simply removed the flags from the upstem 32nd note while
keeping the stem.
Correct.
[ p.s. If you're really OCD like me, you might want to shorten the
stem to match the standard stem length… ;) ]
