I've used the \with syntax and it works, still I have no idea why the
code I wrote did not worked in 3/4 (In 4/4, I have a similar score
working).

Here's the code ran through 2.11.63 version:
I don't know why, but ammending the Lyrics to:
\new Lyrics \with { \override LyricSpace #'minimum-distance = #0.003
\override LyricText #'font-size = #-1 } \lyricsto headVoice \verseA
solved the problem for me.
