Is it possible to get a tempo definition like \tempo 8*5 = 100?
Do you want it displayed somehow, or simply defined? If the latter, simply say \tempo 8 = 500.If the former, you'll need to be more specific about how you want the display (e.g., with notes in markup, or whatever).
