There are two features of this example which aren't helping: 1. The explicit Dynamics context. This needs some extra overrides to work properly in 2.13.4, but convert-ly doesn't update it. I've added a convert rule which strips out the Dynamics context definition, since it's now built-in. 2. There's the small matter of this line: s16\tempo 4=100 \override Score.MetronomeMark #'transparent = ##t s16\tempo 4=56 s8 If you remove the override, you'll see what's partly responsible for messing up the spacing: a load of stacked tempo marks, which confuses the spacing algorithm.
