The command was renamed for version 2.12:
\fatText -> \textLengthOn
\emptyText -> \textLengthOff
The "on/off" naming is more consistent with other commands. You may
also want to checkout
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.12/Documentation/topdocs/NEWS.html for
other commands that were changed at the same time.
