Please don't let your notation software influence your compositional ideas!
I think, this is still one of the major problems with using the computer for
music notation. I see this tendency quite often. So there is still very much
right in the use of pencil and paper. If in doubt, sketch your idea on paper
and then worry about how to get it into the computer ...
