Wouldn't it be better (i.e. more understandable) with a grace-note
group with a rhythm made of different values?
Like this we could think the effect is just to compress the horizontal
spacing within the grace note group.
Something like
\grace { g32[ c16 g32 c16. g32] }
show the non-stretchable spacing better IMHO.
