I'm typesetting a choral (SATB) piece with solos (by men or women) and
am having problems with the lyrics handling.

If I was doing this, I'd have lyrics to the sops and the tenors, and use
alignAboveContext for the tenor lyrics. Where both sop and tenor are
singing, I would use \skip in the tenor lyrics. I think that should work.
Shout if this isn't clear - there's info about both skip and alignAbove.. in
the Notation Reference.
