David, I just wanted to respond and say that I understand what you wrote and now am fully on the same page with you as far as how the digest/mailing list is organized and maintained. For my future responses, I'll trim all quotes as needed, and make sure that I do all that I can to ensure clarity and coherency in my replies.
I hope this will help everyone keep track of the contents of the many threads here. Sorry again if I upset anyone, I'm still learning my way around here. Every forum is a little different in how they handle the finer details in these sorts of situations. Thanks, Ben Patrick or Cynthia Karl <pckarl@> writes: >> > > OK, I'm going to try one more time and then give up. The LilyPond user mailing list is _not_ Usenet. I have checked our information in <URL:http://lilypond.org/contact> as well as the list info at our list server: neither contain a reference to netiquette, whether mailing list etiquette or Usenet etiquette. So for better or worse, first time participants can't be reasonably expected to know the fine points of how to move about on our mailing lists. So there is no point in making a spectacle out of telling them.
