Thank you for your reply and the documentation.

 

My description of what I want was not clear. I have a set of variations each
of them 24 measures. Each variation is on a separate page. Based on the
quantity of notation, some variations need only two lines on a page while
others require more - as much as five lines. For each variation Lilypond
distributes the Piano staves equally on the page: variations with two Piano
staves divide the page into thirds; variations with three Piano staves
divide the page into fourths, and so on. I want the space between one Piano
staff and the next Piano staff to be the same for all variations even if a
white space appears at the bottom the page. 

 

Is this possible?
