It seems that I wasn't clear enough what I want to achieve.  In your
example I want the 50-bar MMR broken into 5-bar MMRs, with proper bar
numbers inbetween.

Mhmm, this doesn't suite my use-case since I want to have large, boxed
bar numbers, serving as cheap rehearsal numbers.
