I wish to add few comments to this discussion.

First - I came, and it appeared Orr had forgoten the register my name (and
car) at the gate. I talked to the Kabat, and he let me in, no problems at
all. I just told the (nice?) guy that I was one of the staff of the
instaparty, and he let me in.
Second, I think that the burning is a good idea. I think about multiple burner
computer, thus writing twice as fast, and I think that setting up a computer
as a network installation computer, with a fast disk, NFS (or FTP, whatever)
, and network could work fine. That way all of the installers could walk
around with nothing but a floppy disk, and avoid depending disks. We should
have few sets of disks as a backup (for non-networked installations), and a
small pile of disks pre-burned for people.
Also, buying good cdrs could proove itself to be a good solution (you can
spend up to 2nis on a "quite good" cdr, and it will still be worth it).

To support the network installation, I supplied a computer with NIC, and a
switched hub, which should suffice for these purposes.

Summing things up:
1) Cars can enter, if proper setup is prearranged. The Kabat, after all, is a
person, and can be talked to. It can be done, and it should be done in an
orderly fashion.
2) Allowing an NFS/FTP server to operate, and a networked invironment could
prove itself to be a great thing. Maybe setting up a kickstart floppy, with
the required setups. I did it once, and it worked like a charm (on dualOS
systems too). Worth considering.
3) CDRs are a good idea. Preparing a small pile of them (some for the
installers, and they are "attached to a pile, and have to keep it with them
till the end of the party", and some for sales, and burning more as we run
along, could prove to be a good idea. Using dual-burner computer can be
proved as a good idea too.
4) (add on) Other locations are possible. I think computer shops will not
allow it, but there are other possibilities (I'll do some checking before the
next due date, or something).
5) It was, with all around, a good party. Adir did great, the installers did
great, and the sponsors did great too. Of course there are glitches, but they
were minor comparing to the result - around 70 computers up and running!

Have a great weekend!

Ez.
