The O'Reilly "Linux Device Drivers" book (make sure you read the second
edition) is freely available online, which is a huge plus in the Technion
setting (I remember that in large courses in the technion, getting the
course book from the library was a near impossibility...).

This book touches some of the Linux Kernel issues, though, and not all,
so you'll need to check how much it fits your course corriculum.
