If anyone is looking for an interesting study in anthoropology, try researching the mutation of jokes and chain letters :) For example, that joke is based on the 14 year old joke a copy of which you can find in http://www.netfunny.com/rhf/jokes/old90/18951.html (or one of its dozen variants that are floating around).
