Yeah, I see the confusion I caused. Of course /path/to/install has nothing
to do with the install script/program. It's the path where the package is
supposed to be installed.

I actually run

gmake PREFIX=/tmp/emild/r2l-package

followed by

gmake PREFIX=/tmp/emild/r2l-package install
