Team, I'd like to announce a change in the Tech Lead position for the Multimedia Working Group.
Several months ago when the Multimedia Working Group needed a new team leader on short notice, Kurt Taylor graciously accepted the challenge. He's done a good job ensuring the team's continued success. Being a Tech Lead brings with it a non-trivial amount of management and administrative duties. Kurt realized that he would like to pursue a more technically oriented (i.e. architecture and coding vs admin) path inside Linaro. Since we do strive to put people where they are most happy, we're going to shake things up a bit. Kurt will be transitioning immediately to an audio focused technical role inside the Multimedia Working Group. Ilias Biris, the project manager assigned to the team, will take on the temporary role of Tech Lead for the team while we search for a new lead. With Connect fast approaching we'll begin the search for a new lead after Connect. Ilias will continue to report to me but will take interim Tech Lead direction directly from Kiko. Ilias's other project management duties (graphics and OCTO) remain unchanged. I'd like to express my thanks for all the hard work Kurt has put in and wish him well in his new position. I'd also like to thank Ilias for stepping up and handling this interim assignment.
