In general this is a very good document really worth reading, it explains the cards life cycle and the quarterly timeline, etc... I don't have major concerns, I did not find any real gaping issues that need to raise a flag about. https://wiki.linaro.org/TSC/2011-08-17/Roadmapping
The only thing that I am still not clear about is the mapping between a card and its associated blueprints. In most cases a card will be implemented by multiple blueprints, how are we going to associate a card to all its dependent blueprints. Are we going to have a URL link from each of these blueprints back to the card? Are we assuming all the blueprints will have a one child relationship to the card? How about if we need to create dependant blueprints. A lot of teams currently are using the blueprints as an administrative unit to track monthly deliverables (what work items will be delivered this month) rather than a blueprint as an end-goal by itself. Which means a lot of blueprints will have dependent blueprints. I need to see how the representation will appear in status.l.o. before I comment further on this one. Blueprinting a card Need to write a process or come with a step by step, maybe with screen capture, to make it easy to do. What happens before/during and after Connect by whom matrix. Timeline and scheduling We should have calendar entries in the e=Events calendar for all the important dates, instead of just having the dates in a table somewhere on a wiki. Planning Each TL/PM should have a list of maintenance (on going items) that resources are assigned/consumed-by and not to over commit. Devil's advocate While the idea of restraining the number of cards in a quarter to 3 or less is good, a potential issue maybe in a large WG is: multiple engineers will have to co-operate on few areas in the quarter. The potential risk here, we may be forcing some engineers to work outside of their areas of expertise. Wish list It was stated that new blueprints will include a link back to the Roadmap card. This is yet an additional field that need to be added to the blueprint. It would be nice to have blueprint template, when one registers a new blueprint he/she can choose a template to use. That way all needed fields with the right syntax will be present in the new blueprint. Additionaly, each Engineering Unit would customize a template to create its new blueprints from.
