I've known Stutz for a couple of years now, so it seems silly for me
to post an introduction. But it also seems silly that I haven't been
subscribed to this list, too.
Anyway, I'm Jon Konrath. I'm a writer, and I live in New York City.
I've been using Linux since late 92/early 93 and other free software
like emacs for a few years before that. For the longest time, my home
computer only ran Linux, until I finally had to break down and steal a
copy of NT and MSWord for a techwriting gig. Oh well, now that I have
DSL at home, I never reboot anyway.
I primarily write fiction, and emacs is my tool of choice. I also do
some occasional zine project, and some web stuff. But having emacs,
RCS, ispell, dict, and the ability to grep and wc through my text at
will is much faster than using any bloated office suite software.
Although I'm a writer, I have some other sporadic, fleeting interest
in other multimedia stuff, like sound and video. I also have great
interest in online communities. Unfortunately, I barely have time to
write, so that stuff doesn't happen as much as I'd like.
I've got a web page at http://www.rumored.com that has some of my
stuff on it, and I have more locked away that I'm willing to dig up
for anyone interested. Drop a line sometime, and I'll try to keep up
on the list as much as I can.
