It's an idea, but there are already a number of other headers
available to filter the mail (designed for that very purpose, in fact)
without causing the cruft that subject munging invariably leads to.
If you're doing your filtering by hand, I suggest upgrading to
procmail, or a more featureful MUA if that isn't possible (I wouldn't
wish Gnus on anyone who isn't willing to spend the time to get it
right, but it's one of a number of options).  I'm not sure what mailer
you're currently using (I don't recognize the software in your
header), but even under windoze there are some almost-decent MUAs that
will do it.  In the long run, you'll be happier, and you can use the
same thing to manage other lists (and even mail from individual
people), too.

All IMHO, of course.

If you need help with any of this, I'm sure there are plenty of people
here or elsewhere who are more than willing to give you a hand (I can
help with Gnus, procmail I don't know, because Gnus already does most
of what I'd want procmail to do.  Windoze software I can't help you
with at all).
