Dear Listers, We need to replace the HVAC system in our 2-story, 2400 square foot home. We have received several quotes for modulating furnaces (as well as for one-stage and two-stage). Most companies are enthusiastic about the energy efficiency and home comfort of modulating furnaces. However, it'd be great to hear from anyone who has experience with these systems, particularly 1) Frequency and ease of repairs; 2) noise; 3) cost savings over time.
