The Lincoln School Committee will meet Thursday August 12 at 7 p.m. with the Lincoln Select Board for the purpose of interviewing candidates for appointment to fill a vacancy on the School Committee. The meeting will be held virtually via ZOOM.
The resignation of Trintje Gnazzo has left a mid-term vacancy on the board. Such a vacancy is filled through a joint process of the Select Board and the remaining members of the School Committee. The process is carried out in accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 41. The interim candidate will be appointed via roll call vote. The person appointed shall serve until the next annual town election in March 2022, at which time they would need to be elected to continue serving. The Committee has asked any resident registered to vote in Lincoln with an interest in helping the Lincoln Public Schools achieve its priorities to submit a short statement of interest by today, Monday August 9, to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>. Questions may be addressed to Tara Mitchell, chair of the School Committee, at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>. Specific meeting information and the general guidelines for remote participation by members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting can be found on the Town of Lincoln website, at www.lincolntown.org.
