Dear Lincoln,
Today the Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committee’s 4-year Downsize for Diversity
fundraiser reached $120,738 in net sales against our $100k goal just 3 weeks
before the 4-year finish line.
What a journey it has been!
The MCC collected donations from over 240 donors across 33 towns in
Massachusetts, from Essex to Cape Cod.
46% of our donors were from Lincoln!
Since the 1960’s Lincoln has been one of the Vanguard towns leading the way
with bringing the METCO Program into our community.
Thank you, Lincoln, thank you every single one of you who not only donated
beautiful items, but purchased them.
Thank you to all of you who stepped forward to volunteer at our estate sale
events.
Thank you to all of our friends, neighbors, and community partners who stepped
forward in many a pinch to lift, load, unload, and more.
We, WE, have changed the financial landscape of the Lincoln METCO Coordinating
Committee FOREVER, as these proceeds have seeded a policy governed investment
fund that represents our first step in the path to sustainability.
It takes a village!
Yes We DID!!!
Warmly,
The Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committeea 501(c)3 Organization Lincoln

Lincoln MCC
Our Vision:

The MCC supports building a strong, anti-racist community in which students and
families with different life experiences feel a deep sense of inclusion and
belonging and recognize, accept, and celebrate each other's differences. We
also support the METCO program by activating caregivers to help attain its
goals and priorities.

Our Mission:

We will achieve our vision by:

   -
Creating opportunities for Lincoln resident and Boston resident students and
caregivers to build authentic and lasting relationships and an equitable
exchange of welcoming experiences in both Boston and Lincoln (e.g.,
opportunities for social connection, after school programming for children,
summer camp)

   -
Supporting the school and community in its Anti-racism, Inclusion, Diversity
and Equity (AIDE) work (e.g., district NCBI training, caregiver education)

   -
Advocating and supporting the METCO program at both a State and Local level

   -
Organizing resources (funding, volunteers) in support of the METCO team with
their work

   -
Advocating for conditions that will promote a truly integrated public school
environment (e.g. inclusive curriculum, vision for integration, etc.)
