I think there is room for both. Every meeting, every survey over the last 15 years has called for the need to keep the Mall vibrant …and to support local businesses.
Something Special offers lots fo great choices both for gifts and for everyday items (cookware, towels, candles, etc). I urge everyone to shop as locally as they can. We certainly lost an asset and a place for locally and handmade items when the Old Town Hall Exchange shuttered, but Something Special is stepping up and has wonderful and plentiful inventory. If we do not shop locally, we will lose those stores and services, and we will be resigned to the occasional pop-up craft fair. …just my opinion.
