This is the final episode of the acclaimed PBS American Experience Series called “We Still Remain.” On the night of February 27, 1973, the occupation of Wounded Knee began. Demanding redress for grievances—both immediate and some going back more than 100 years— the protesters captured the world’s attention for 71 gripping days. The event proved that despite centuries of encroachment, warfare, and neglect, Native Americans remain a vital force in the life of America. Everyone welcome.
