Thank you to everyone who replied. Summarizing recommendations:
* Vendor -- both sell Ariens snow blowers
o Richie and Clapper (Wayland) -- excellent service
o Wayland Power Equipment -- excellent service
* Brand/model:
o Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO
I didn't realize that the sales season for snow blowers starts in August
and is basically over. At this point, both vendors have limited
machines in stock and are unlikely to get more this season. I bought a
Platinum 24" SHO 2021 (Model 921063) from Richie and Clapper, price
$1799 (plus tax). Wayland Power Equipment didn't have any of this model
in stock but if they had it would have been the same price. Wayland
Power had the Platinum 24" EFI (Model 921066) which Richie and Clapper
did not. I would have preferred a Platinum 28" but Ariens doesn't make
one. The 30" was too big for me to easily handle and wider than I felt
would be easy to use in some of the smaller spaces where it will be used.
Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to try out the model that I
purchased, discuss the factors that fed into this choice, etc.
