Three Developers Submit Bids to Construct Aviation Facility off Hartwell Road ~

Massachusetts Port Authority has received three proposals from developers for
construction of a major aviation facility on up to 29 acres of land on Hanscom
Field just south of Hartwell Road. Monday was the deadline for submitting
proposals; the original deadline was Nov. 18. Jennifer Mehigan, Massport’s
director of media relations, said the proposals “are currently under review to
make sure they meet all the qualifications. That review is expected to continue
into January.” The project was first announced at the end of August. Requests
for proposals did not define the objective as a fixed-base operator, but the
details included many of the components of that facility. The site abuts
Hartwell Road across from The Edge Sports Center playing fields and continues
behind Werfen, the former Instrumentation Laboratory.
