Watch out with permethrin if you have cats. I've read many places that,
although permethrin is basically safe for most mammals, it is highly toxic to
cats.

derived stuff sprayed on hiking gear to repel and kill ticks). Lots of going
through stuff, culling, dry cleaning and ziplock bagging. Vacuuming. Freezer

Mothballs make everything smell terrible, and are not good for breathing, lots
