Hi all, We are part of a group of families organizing an outdoor playgroup this summer (for kids + their parent/caretaker).
We wanted to extend the invitation to other families in the area in case there is interest. Below is a bit more about it. Let us know if you'd like to be added to our email list (and please include in the note your kids' names and ages). We'll likely have a gathering in the next few weeks and then start in earnest in mid-June. Best, Gabrielle and Ben ([email protected] and [email protected]) We are a group of families organizing an outdoor playgroup this summer for children ages 0 to 5ish, meeting weekdays 9 AM to 12 PM in Lincoln. All activities are held outside, in any weather, and are focused on exploration in natural settings. The location will vary but mostly be someone’s yard or a local hike. The activities – which are facilitated by parents, caretakers and kids, evolving with their interests – include: - Small garden plots and sandboxes - Feeding and caring for chickens and goats - DIY musical instruments and sing-alongs and movement/yoga - Hiking and map-making - Painting - Playing with clay and mud - Solar cooking - Building small shelters, and simple machines from found materials As parents we plan to facilitate an atmosphere of mutual respect, encouragement, exploration and appropriate risk-taking in the service of joyful play. We’ll also be avoiding any use of electronics in the playgroup. Feel free to contact us in order to join in on the outdoor playgroup! All are welcome.
