LS Adult & Community Education has a variety of exciting topics coming up in May! Check out these and other featured classes:
*Backyard Birdsong Identification*: (Tuesdays, May 17 & 24, 7-9pm, $49) Have you ever wondered if that “tweet” is from a cardinal or a chickadee? Birdsong identification is a lot like learning a foreign language; join us to learn the language spoken by our feathered friends. Our birding expert, Michele Grzenda, will start with a few basic bird songs as a reference, then add to your repertoire with repetition and practice. Time spent outdoors will become even more enjoyable with your new understanding and appreciation of birdsongs. *Guided Walks on Lincoln’s Conservation Areas*: (Thursdays, May 26 & June 2, 1-3pm, $39) Explore two of Lincoln’s Conservation Lands with staff from Lincoln Conservation Department and Lincoln Land Conservation Trust. May is a perfect time to be outdoors as our forests, wetlands, and fields burst with the colors and sounds of spring! *Cell Phones and Parenting:* (Tuesday, May 31, 1pm-2pm, $29) When your child has a smartphone there are key things you should know to keep them safe. Understand recommended safety settings on popular social media apps, parental apps for your child’s smartphone and more! *Chocolate Tasting*: (Tuesday, May 17, 7:30pm-9pm, $29) Did you know chocolate comes from a fruit? Join Tom Rogan of Sudbury’s Goodnow Farms Chocolate to taste and learn more about how single origin chocolate is sourced and made. Class makes a great Mother’s or Father’s Day Gift! *Family Fishing Clinic:* (Tuesday, May 17, 5:30pm-7:30pm, $25) Have you ever wanted to learn how to fish? Now’s your chance! Let the MassWildlife Angler Education Program be your guide. We’ll have equipment on hand for use, as well as terminal tackle, and live bait. You’ll learn the basics, from casting out to baiting up to reeling in your catch. Come try your hand at this great pastime, guaranteed to catch some fun! This is a program for people of all ages.
