I would leave them - these don't look like carpenter ants or other species that are harmful. Most ant species support a healthy ecosystem. Among other things, they aerate the soil — digging tunnels that carry water, oxygen, and nutrients to plant roots. And they also speed the decomposition of organic material, such as leaves and dead insects, thereby fertilizing plants. If you ever decide to plant that area of your garden, the soil will probably be improved by their activity.
