Marit - one of the great joys of living in Lincoln is that we have a trash and recycling center(or “dump”) which is open from 7:30 to 3:30 Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are separate receptacles for glass, trash, plastic/paper, and an area for kitchen waste (to be composted). There is also a “swap shed” where people bring household items that they don’t want any more, and anyone can take them home for free. You need a sticker on your car that identifies you as a Lincoln resident to use the dump. In many ways, it is part of the heart of the community, and a large percent of our citizens use it rather than a private service. It’s also a great place to meet people!
